For this is love...

God has called us to live a life so far above the standards of this world. A life above names on plaques and buildings. A life more honorable than Pultzer Prizes or Golden Globes. He has called us to a life of LOVE. He wants us to live a life of love, uncontrollable love. We've been called to love people. Not to Bible-bash them over the head with condemnations and admonitions. To love His people is a greater calling than we could ever imagine. That is all he asked of us. To love Him, and to love His people. I didn't say to "save" people, or to "lead them to Christ". He asked us to love them. Personally, I don't know any people I have led to Christ. But I know a lot of people who He has called me to love. By loving them, I have recieved love in return.
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' -Matthew 25:40

By loving God, we will want to love people. And by loving people, we are showing love t oGod by being obediant to His will. My heart has been filled with love that has been given me by the Greatest Lover. Filled so high, that it spills over into the lives of others. Love is a gift that is supposed to be given away, not horded. Spill your love over into the lives of those around you.

  1. I do believe that we are to love people, but we are also supposed to whitness to them and tell them about what Christ has done for us. True we are not suppose to bash people over the head with the bible, but we are not to lead a passive life and not articulate the love of Christ. The issue is for them to accept Christ, and they cannot do that if you don't tell them about him. And they will see how you love people, and want what you have.
